Teneka Gash is a Mental Health Professional with Positive Transformations Health Services and a Site Coordinator/School Counselor with Communities in Schools of the Gulf South. Ms. Gash is housed at St. Charles Street Elementary, Pre-K to 6th grade. She earned a Masters of Education in School Counseling from Nicholls State University and a Bachelors of Social Work from Northwestern State University. Ms. Gash is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Social Worker. She possesses an Ancillary Certificate, and holds a Certification in Teletherapy, Standand CPR/AED (Adult, Child, Infant). and currently seeking certification in Trauma Focused- Coginitive Behavioral Therapy.
Ms. Gash is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, La. in the PhD Program of Counselor Ed and Supervision. Her areas of clinical, scholarly, and advocacy interests include social and cultural diversity issues in the school setting, trans-generational traumatic stress among socially ascribed groups and communities, crisis intervention, cancer prevention and research. Ms. Gash has an enormous commitment and innovation in working hand-in-hand with counselors within our state, regionally and nationally to promote resilience, strength and resources within our professional community.
