About this speaker

Laura Lanier Eisman, with the Louisiana Mental Health Association, is manager of the Peer program-TARGET Health & TARGET Health Youth. She is a Peer, from substance use and mental health issues. Obtaining her Masters in Counseling, she started her career in social services at the Alcohol & Drug Council in Nashville, TN. Laura was trained in fundraising and communications and served other national Non-profits and on many Boards. Living across the country with American Red Cross, Laura used her skills in the areas of mental health recovery after major disasters. In 2010, Laura moved to Baton Rouge, to work at LSU and to be closer to family in Monroe, LA. Gratefully landing at LAMHA, she received her designation of Certified Peer Support Specialist, (CPSS) in the first virtual class, upon the arrival of the pandemic. Laura collaborates with all ages of Peers everyday in her work and volunteering. She is dedicated to their and her growth from Behavioral Health challenges to thriving in recovery.
